Jamie BruntonandClaude Opus 5 b5304e24e3 Allow sending emojis in the chat
Add an emoji picker to the dashboard reply composer and let generated
replies use emoji.

The picker offers a short hand-picked set rather than a full Unicode
index, and inserts at the caret so the operator can keep typing without
reaching for the mouse again. Insertion respects the Reddit length cap.

The chat reply system prompt now permits at most one or two emoji per
message, only where someone texting casually would use one. Scoped to
ongoing replies — openers build from configurable prompts, so hardcoding
guidance there would fight the operator's own settings.

### 1. Discovery
The discovery loop rotates through enabled subreddits and authenticated runtimes. A runtime fetches Reddit `/new` data using the process-shared `RedditRequestCoordinator`. The discovery loop rotates through enabled subreddits and authenticated runtimes. A runtime fetches Reddit `/new` data using the process-shared `RedditRequestCoordinator`. In the default `post-author` targeting mode those posts enter intake directly. An image subreddit configured for `comment-author` instead reads top-level comments from at most five newly listed posts, batches previously unseen eligible comment text through the reaction classifier, and creates candidates only for role-alignment verdicts at or above 0.8 confidence. A bounded in-process cache prevents unchanged comments from repeatedly consuming model calls. The candidate ID, author, timestamp, and permalink come from the comment while the original post image and title remain attached as preparation context; the usual image screen later verifies the depicted gender against `reddit.targetGenders`. Intake then deduplicates candidate IDs and authors, excludes processed/contacted history, stores the full snapshot, source type, weight, and timestamps, and logs exact intake counts.
The queue grows to a demand-based target rather than a fixed backlog. The target is the smaller of configured `reddit.maxReadyCandidates` and the work that authenticated running accounts can still send within the recent-post window, accounting for rolling hourly capacity and minimum message spacing. Intake admits only the current deficit, newest Reddit posts first, pauses at zero outbound capacity, and reports fetched posts left unevaluated because the funnel is full. Reddit request pacing, not a tight application poll, remains the primary request limiter.

Matrix cooldowns retain the operation that triggered them. A room-creation or invitation limit pauses new outreach but does not suppress replies in existing rooms; a limit returned while sending into an existing room pauses those sends as well.
The operator can manually clear the unsent funnel from the authenticated dashboard. The repository atomically moves discovered, screening, ready, and retryable candidates to a terminal rejection with the reason `Cleared manually by operator`, releases their leases, and retains the audit rows so those candidates are not rediscovered. A `sending` lease is never changed because its remote Matrix outcome may already be in flight. Clearing does not change bot mode; running discovery may refill the funnel immediately.
The same surface supports individual cancellation and prepared-message editing. Individual cancellation uses the same terminal audit transition and refuses `sending` or completed rows. Editing is limited to `ready` and `retryable` candidates with a preparation snapshot; it atomically replaces only the opener, clears generated strategy/experiment selection metadata, labels the model attribution `operator-edited`, and re-runs the deterministic outbound location/meeting safeguard. Both operations return HTTP 409 when a stale dashboard loses a race to dispatch.
Screening, retry promotion, dispatch, and the operator's active-queue view are ordered by the Reddit post creation time, newest first; source priority is only a tie-breaker. The dispatch worker leases the newest ready candidate for an account, materializes the processed post in that account's repository, applies the account rate limiter, checks dry-run, and atomically claims the recipient globally. `ChatService.startConversationDetailed()` returns one of:

Each account runtime refreshes recent chats and processes actionable inbound conversations oldest-first before it can accept new outreach. After the initial conservative startup scan, the persisted latest Matrix message event plus the worker's prior-scan watermark is authoritative: a newly observed inbound event newer than the confirmed opener remains actionable even if Matrix's presentation-only unread notification count has already returned to zero. On startup, read-marked rooms without a pending reply claim are not revived. Durable event claims, conversation policy state, and a later outbound event prevent duplicate replies.
Every running-mode reply scan also applies the shared deterministic seller/off-platform rules to the complete cached inbound transcript before actionability is calculated. This retrospective pass catches Telegram, Snapchat, other contact-platform pushes, payment requests, verification scams, paid-content funnels, and configured seller evidence that arrived before a restart or after an operator took ownership. It uses an in-process transcript watermark, spends no classifier tokens, persists the seller/terminal state, and moves killed conversations to Done. Scan mode remains non-mutating. The operator-forced seller scan uses the same deterministic decision before its optional batched AI fallback.
Outgoing Matrix events are attributed against the recorded opener, durable automated-reply fingerprints, and confirmed exchange-library event records. If synchronization observes an unmatched outgoing message, the conversation becomes operator-owned before another reply can be generated. An unmatched outgoing message also supersedes, rather than confirms, a pending automated claim; only the claimed reply text can reconcile that claim as sent.

General R4R generation explicitly permits consensual adult NSFW conversation. A model response that softly refuses, moralizes, or diverts solely because the topic is sexual is rejected before send and falls through to the next configured chat model. General replies may offer a generic approved saved picture without that offer being miscounted as a request for recipient media.
Legacy conversations may make at most one optional autonomous media request, including a request already present in the opener. The hybrid policy retains its single rapport-gated media ask. Deterministic, sequence-aware refusal checks run before generation and again at send time; generated media asks must pass the same non-explicit, non-coercive validator.

For each latest inbound text event, `MediaLibraryExchangeService` detects direct or indirect image requests before normal reply generation. A clear affirmative response to the immediately preceding generic bot media offer is also a generic request; unrelated agreement is not. Exact requests require the matching tag. Generic requests use the conversation's completed library-send count to broaden the eligible safety tier and randomly choose an unused asset. A unique durable reservation on account + conversation + asset prevents reuse, while account + conversation + inbound event makes restart handling idempotent.
After the normal reply limiter waits, automation refreshes Matrix and rechecks that the same inbound request is still latest and that no image, boundary, seller signal, or other terminal state has appeared. It then uploads the private file to Matrix, sends an `m.image` event with a stable transaction ID, and only after confirmation sends the optional reciprocal text. If the image is confirmed but the text is not, the asset remains consumed and the conversation is handed to the operator rather than risking a duplicate.

13. Browsing decisions are unique per account and thing. Before selecting, the service also checks for a `simulated-upvote` by any other owned account, but account-specific rejections do not unnecessarily reserve an item globally.
14. A browsing selection is persisted as `pending` before any vote request. It becomes `submitted` only after Reddit confirms the authenticated upvote, or `failed` with the safe error reason; unconfirmed selections are never retried. Browsing rows never contribute to adaptive comment-growth promotion.
15. Manual outreach clearing is a terminal audited transition, not deletion. It rejects discovered, screening, ready, and retryable candidates, releases their leases, and never changes a `sending` row whose remote outcome may be uncertain.
16. Individual candidate removal follows the same audited transition. Prepared opener edits are allowed only in ready/retryable states; the transaction updates the queue snapshot and any matching processed-post projection, clears AI experiment attribution, and carries `operatorEdited: true` with model ID `operator-edited` through delivery.
10. Recipient account status changes only after a definitive Reddit profile response. Transient lookup failures retain the previous value, and the shared check timestamp prevents duplicate lookups across account runtimes during the four-hour interval.

The subreddit editor chooses both a source type and recipient: image sources can target the post author or high-confidence qualifying commenters, while chat/text sources always target the post author. Comment-targeted rows carry a visible `Commenters` badge.
The account-growth page states plainly that comments are AI-written and posted without review, shows the adaptive allowance and trust level rather than a settable rate, and surfaces every posted comment's exact text alongside its score and removal state. A paused account replaces the pause control with a resume control and explains why it stopped, because resuming is the one action that can compound the damage.
Its browsing section separates session scheduling from the default-off automatic-upvote switch, lets the operator set the daily target range, minimum gap, and selections per session, and shows whether each selection was submitted or simulated, today's deterministic target, post/comment split, exclusion counts, durable next session, and recent selections with Reddit permalinks. Daily and per-session counts have no product-imposed upper ceiling. The daily range is saved atomically; changing it recalculates today's target, which then remains stable for that range and local day. The displayed minimum gap is followed by bounded random jitter. Scan mode and browser dry-run remain simulation-only. An enabled, running account can also run one immediate session at the configured size; it bypasses the schedule and follows the same automatic-upvote setting. Prepared cards in the authenticated outreach funnel expose the exact opener, grounded image analysis, attractiveness and physique scores, current target range, detected gender, strategy/tone/model metadata, and original source image. The live range is returned through the existing preparation field so cached dashboard bundles remain compatible during a rolling deployment. The durable queue still owns the historical preparation snapshot used for reconciliation. The source image uses the shared `OriginPostCard` privacy behavior: blurred initially, first click reveals it, and a later click opens the full-screen preview. Candidates from older persisted snapshots degrade cleanly when newer optional metadata is absent.
The funnel header also offers a destructive, confirmed **Clear funnel** action. Its dialog names the number of cancellable candidates, explains that audit rows remain and running discovery can refill the queue, and separately identifies any in-flight sends that cannot safely be cancelled. Success is reported from the authoritative API response before the funnel query refreshes.
Each non-sending candidate has a confirmed **Remove** action. Prepared candidates in ready or retrying state also have **Edit message**: the modal validates the 1–2000 character limit, the server re-applies outbound safeguards, and a successful edit is shown as operator-authored attribution. Buttons are intentionally absent once the candidate is sending, while the server still enforces the state boundary against stale pages.

- Dry-run prepares and records decisions but never sends.

@@ -30,6 +31,8 @@ Configured subreddits have a source type:
- `image`: image-led posts are downloaded and analyzed before an opener is generated.
- `chat`: text-led posts require a parseable self-declared gender and adult age, then use the chat-opener prompt.
Image subreddits may separately target either the post author (the default) or a qualifying commenter. Comment-author targeting scans a bounded set of top-level comments on newly listed image posts and uses a fail-closed AI classification. A comment qualifies only when it personally expresses a desire to experience or take the depicted role and confidence is at least 0.8. The normal image screen then verifies that the depicted role matches `reddit.targetGenders`. This is an interpretation of role alignment in the public comment, not a claim about the author's actual gender or identity. Generic praise, ambiguous reactions, deleted/moderator comments, and the post author's own comments do not qualify. The original image remains the preparation context, but generated openers are explicitly told that the recipient is a commenter and is not necessarily depicted.
Image analysis may produce a subjective 1–10 visible-physique score. It is not a medical assessment and remains unknown when the image does not show enough of the body for a grounded judgment. The scale is deliberately critical: 5 is broadly average, 6 requires visible above-average leanness or definition, and 8–10 are reserved for rare athletic or model-like physiques. Nudity and photographic presentation do not increase the score. Physique targeting is disabled by default. When an operator enables an inclusive minimum/maximum range, image candidates outside that range—and unscorable image candidates—are rejected before opener generation; chat candidates are unaffected.
Seller filtering combines the candidate post with Reddit profile/about, structured social links when Reddit exposes them, and recent activity evidence. Because Reddit's legacy profile response can omit a social-link button that is visible in its UI, an NSFW bio is also rejected when it combines an explicit link call-to-action with a promise of more or exclusive personal content. The default policy treats Telegram names and links as seller signals alongside paid-content platforms and payment prompts. The configured keyword/domain lists are policy inputs, not a substitute for the surrounding screening flow. A profile lookup failure is not itself proof that a person is a seller; network and rate-limit failures must remain distinguishable from a rejection.

The snapshot matters: changing configuration later must not silently rewrite the rules for an active conversation. Automation stops for seller/upsell evidence, an image received, a detected boundary, unsafe content, an exhausted turn budget, a repeated media request, or a manual policy.
Two of those stops are terminal rather than handoffs. A reply that pushes the conversation onto another messaging app, asks for contact details, solicits payment, points at a paid-content funnel, or runs the age/bot "verification" scam sets the automation status to `killed`, marks the durable seller flag, and resolves the operator's triage state, so the conversation leaves every actionable queue instead of collecting in the manual one. Detection normalizes the text first — unicode folding, zero-width stripping, leet mapping, separator removal — because these words are routinely obfuscated (`0nlyfans`, `t3l3gram`, `t e l e g r a m`). Ambiguous terms need context: `snap` on its own is a photo request in this product and never a kill on its own. Off-platform kills are a safety control and stay on independently of `reddit.filterSellers`; a configured seller keyword or domain also kills unless `conversations.killOnSellerKeyword` is disabled. Under-18 disclosures and in-person/contact-detail asks remain human handoffs, and now apply to every policy mode rather than the R4R ones only.
Within those boundaries, R4R replies are expected to participate naturally in consensual adult NSFW conversation instead of moralizing, declining the topic, or diverting ordinary flirting into generic small talk. In-character soft refusals are treated like provider refusals and fall through to the next configured chat model. This does not weaken recipient boundaries, the under-18 handoff, seller/off-platform controls, location and meeting prohibitions, or the separate media-request rules.

Optional second-stage AI screening (`conversations.aiReplyScreening`) runs only when the deterministic rules come up clean, classifies the inbound side of the conversation as genuine, seller, off-platform, scam, bot, or unclear, and kills at or above `killConfidence` while handing off at or above `flagConfidence`. It fails open: a classifier error or outage never blocks a reply, and each inbound event is screened at most once per process. The bot may continue to ask another person for an optional photo under the configured conversation policy. During ordinary adult conversation it may also make a low-pressure generic offer to share one of its own approved saved pictures, but it must not promise a particular image or anatomy.
